Biography

Born and raised in a small logging community in northern Idaho, I started playing and writing music in my early teens. Having grown up with rock and roll, the folk generation of the 60’s, and the British invasion of the Beatles and the Stones, not to mention the harmonies of George and Tammy and my dad’s favorite Charlie Pride, my musical tastes evolved to simple songs that tell a story.

Soon after high school, and having discovered that college wasn’t ready for me, I spent 3 years in the army. The Viet Nam era changed the way a lot of us looked at things and certainly changed my songwriting styles. After the military, I started playing and singing with honky tonk bands on the west coast until my wife and I decided that was not a good way for us to raise a family. At that point music took a back seat to family and making a living, and for the next twenty or so years it was pretty much just a hobby.

Now retired and feeling the urge to write again, I penned some songs that seemed to touch people, so I decided to put them down in a collection of tunes that was simple and from the heart. That’s the kind of music and lyrics that I most enjoy doing and I hope that people like to hear.
